Who we are

Founded in Florence in 1950 by Edoardo Abbele, Giunti O.S. Organizzazioni Speciali is, in terms of catalogue, history and market, the leading Italian publisher of psychodiagnostic tests and tools.

Giunti O.S. operates in the sector of psychological assessment, developing tools and methods for intervention in all spheres of application, from the clinical (clinical and health psychology, psychiatry and child neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, logopedics, etc) to that of human resources management (industrial and organisational psychology), through to the sectors of education and guidance (tests for level assessment; diagnosis of learning difficulties; educational, professional and university guidance).

The commitment of Giunti O.S. is to offer its Clients (professionals, public bodies and organisations, private bodies and organisations) tools and services of top quality in terms of innovation, scientific content and relevance to the Italian social and cultural context, designed to meet all assessment requirements of a clinical, administrative or educational nature. Particular attention is devoted to the ethics of the testing, in terms both of the development of the tools and their utilisation (in harmony with the international codes of ethics and with Italian legislation, Giunti O.S. conditions the sale of its tools to the possession of certain professional qualifications, in order to guarantee a correct use in the interests of the people for whom the tests are used).

In this way, Giunti O.S. represents a point of encounter between the demands of the market, scientific research and the requirements of the users, setting itself up within Italy as a centre of excellence for psychological assessment testing and services.

THE GROUP

Giunti O.S. is part of Giunti Editore, one of the leading and most dynamic Italian publishing houses. In 1989 it set up Giunti OS Consulting, a consulting company offering industrial psychology services to public and private organisations, now Giunti O.S. Consulting Division. In 1997 it contributed to the foundation of ITER - Institute for Training Education and Research, an association dealing with the research and development of methods of training, guidance and action, now full part of Giunti O.S. as Training Division. In 2003 it founded OS Hungary Tesztfejleszto, a publishing house with head office in Budapest, for the development and marketing of tests in Hungarian. In 2006 set up OS Bulgaria, test publisher based in Sophia, for test distribution and services in the Bulgarian market. In 2007 has been founded in Paris Eurotests Editions, to develop and distribute tests for the French markets, OS Romania, for the Romanian market, and OS Ukraine for the Ukrainian and Russian speaking markets.
In March 2009, with the opening of an office in Moscow, Giunti O.S. becomes the first Western publishing company in the Russian market.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

At an international level, Giunti O.S. is one of the founder members of the ETPG - European Test Publishers Group, a prestigious network which brings together the most important publishers in the sector from eleven European countries, and is part of the ITC - International Testing Committee, the institute responsible for psychological testing at the level of international scientific associations.

In Italy, Giunti O.S. represents the major North-American and European test publishers and is a benchmark for researchers and professionals for the importation of foreign language psycho-diagnostic tools.
